Hello hello hello!
How have you been? Hope you're not too stressed about Sem 5. If you are, don't be. I genuinely, honestly, whole-heartedly believe that you are smarter than me. Not only that, you're definitely more hardworking than I am (look at what I'm doing right now). That's two points in your favour. And if I made it through, so can you.
Anyway, you must be wondering why on earth I sent you this bloody link. Well, my dear friend, I am procrastinating. It is currently Tuesday 13 September, 8.42pm, and I just had dinner (more details on dinner later). Prior to cooking my dinner, I was writing out a reflective log for my portfolio which is something I have to start doing regularly now that I'm in UK (sigh..). I ate way too much and now I'm too full to continue doing work. Also, I'm too lazy (please refer to previous point on you being hardworking and me.. well.. not).
So what did I choose to do? Waste time on the computer, obviously. After watching all the new videos in my subscription box on YouTube, I made my way to Tumblr. It was there that it occurred to me that I was somewhat serious about wanting to start a blog with you to talk to you now that we're continents apart (get it? continental-split? i'm quite proud of that). So I then made my way to Blogspot where, lo and behold, I discover we already have a blog together! If you haven't scrolled down to previous posts, you may not remember (I certainly didn't) that we created a blog to show Jeslyn things we found online, mostly from Tumblr (what a full circle this journey turned out to be) and some from Facebook and other things. Thus, began my saga (not really) of refurbishing this blog- thinking of a new url that wasn't taken, changing the title and the template (you can change whatever you want too) and typing up a new post.
Now, let me explain myself. I really want to try and do this because I like the idea of getting long messages from my best friend. This is my way of making us pen pals but without having to spend money on envelopes and stamps. I think it's cute. I also think it's a good way to give myself something to do when I'm bored in my room. Another thing I'm hoping will happen now that I've started this is that maybe I'll start taking more pictures so I can add them into these posts for you. I'm not saying I don't want to Skype, Whatsapp or Snapchat you about things anymore. I'm just saying I want to add this to the list.
Look, I know you're very busy. I expect I will be too, once postings start. But that's kind of why I want to make this blog. So I can talk to you, even when I can't (it's 4am in Malaysia). I'm not forcing you to post on this blog, please don't feel like you have to. I'm just making it an available channel for you to talk to me too. I mean, you did say you wanted to write me letters that one time. So yeah, that's pretty much the bulk of what I wanted to write this time.
But I did say more details on dinner. So to end this post on a random note (as if this entire post isn't random), let me tell you about my dinner! For the bridging course, we have two sessions every day split by our lunch break in the middle. Today's second session was a hospital posting for a few hours but they split our group into 2 with one group doing the posting today while to other group goes on Thursday. Yay for me, I'm in the other group. So I had a free afternoon. Me and Ivan decided to go to Tesco because we have no more food at our respective homes. While at Tesco, I found frozen tortelloni on sale, 2 for £3.50 (1 for £2), so I bought them. When I got home, I was so lazy to cook I decided to cook the tortelloni for dinner.
Looking at the packet, I knew the whole packet would be way too much for me (also it says serves 2 on the packet). So I did the sensible thing and split the portion in half and boiled one half of the packet for dinner. Turns out, even half the pack is way too much. I finished it, but I finished my food about an hour ago and I still feel like there's food in my oesophagus waiting for space in my stomach. Even worse, I now have this dilemma where I have half a portion left in the freezer. I can't split that in half because it won't be enough but I don't really want to eat the whole portion either because I'm so full now. I'm definitely splitting the other box into 3 portions but I think I may have to just make sure I'm really hungry before I cook that other half portion. Cooking for one, man.. It's hard.
Well, that's all folks. I'll leave you with a picture because pictures are worth a thousand words.
Lots of love,
Kim
