I was Attacked and Now I'm Bleeding

Hello hello hello!

My, my.. What a day I've had. Sadly, I did not take any pictures today (I'm sorry! I will try to do better tomorrow). Well, the day started off as any other day, woke up at 7.50am to shower and get dressed. Walked to the Medical Biology Centre for CSU, or as they refer to it, CSEC (Clinical Skills Education Centre).

Today we did CVS and Abdomen (GI and Renal) examination. First encounter with Dr Ruth and man is she perky. She's quite possibly the happiest person I've met. It's kinda scary. Don't get me wrong, she's lovely. But when she told all of us she works in the A&E department, I think everyone kind of got the sense that she may be just a teensy weensy bit cuckoo somewhere deep down.

The session went fine. Actually, better than fine since I didn't get called up so I didn't have to do anything except sit there and watch everyone else. For the most part, their methods are pretty much the same as what we've learnt at IMU. I don't remember what time the session ended but it was around lunch time.

So that's what we (Me, Daniel, Rayane, Khemerin and Ivan) did next- lunch. Decided to try out a place we've never been to before called The Black Bear. It turned out to be a pretty vegan place. I had a sandwich with roasted red pepper, hummus, rocket and smoked cheddar. It was pretty good, not gonna lie. But seriously though, sandwiches for lunch... all. the. time.

Rayane and Ivan faceswapped... nightmare fuel

Remember previously when I mentioned that my posting was on Thursday? Yes, that would be tomorrow with Ivan, Rayane and Khem at Royal Victoria Hospital. Since, we had the afternoon off, the four of us decided to go to Belfast City Hospital and see where the shuttle bus to RVH would leave from.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the weather was cool, light breeze in the air, shade from the trees. As we were walking, there was a gust of wind and something hit the back of my neck. Hard. I assumed it was a twig or something that fell from the tree but I didn't see anything fall to the ground. Probably stuck somewhere on my jacket or hood or something. I reached up to my neck with my right hand to swipe away whatever foliage was caught between my neck and jacket and...

Something fell from the tree, alright. But it definitely was not a leaf or a twig. The moment that soft, mushy texture registered in my brain, I swiped it from my neck with my fingers, looked at the white and brown mush for a millisecond before flicking all of it towards the ground.

How? HOW ON EARTH? There's barely any bird shit on the pavement. But somehow, against all odds, I got it on my neck. Thankfully, this bird had eaten a lot of fibre so while it was still soft, it was solid enough that it didn't splatter (Thank God! I was wearing white) and I managed to get it all off with the initial swipe. I did have to use tissue to get some residue off my fingers but, for the most part, I was really lucky. It didn't get on any of my clothes and I managed to get it all off. And we we're going home after.

My amazingly supportive parents.

Nothing interesting happened after that. I got home and that's when I discovered Aunt Flo had decided to visit. I've been expecting her but she was a few days late. I suppose she tried to find me in KL but then realised I wasn't there and had to take a flight out here to see me. Well, while I was "laying down the bed" for Aunt Flo, I contemplated on whether I should tell you about the bird poop on Snapchat or here. That's when the brilliant post title came to me and I decided to tell you about it here instead. Sure, I could've just sent you a Snapchat with my "fed up" face and the caption "bird pooped on me today". But this way, I gave you (hopefully) a mini heart attack by making you think I was violently attacked. Why? Because shitting you (yea? Am I funny or what?) is just what I do.

You can't be mad at me because I didn't lie. I did get attacked, allbeit by a bird, and I am currently bleeding. I really should finish up my reflective writing.. By the way, I'm probably eating the other half portion of tortelloni for dinner tonight so I expect I'll be mighty full once again.

-edit-
Just had dinner, can confirm: super full.

Well, that's all folks. I'll see you when I see you.

Lots of love,
Kim

  1. Funnily enough, i knew you were trolling when I read the title haha and when you said something landed on the back of your neck, I had the instant flashback of the bird poop incident you had at the little playground in front of srikl canteen! Why are you so lucky, kimberly?! Twice in 21 years! Please tell me your dad bought a number at 4D! hahaha
